DURHAM, N.H. - University of Maryland sophomore gymnast Stephanie Giameo earned East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) Gymnast of the Week honors for the second time this season, the league announced Tuesday.
Competing in two meets during the week, Giameo tied for first in a tri meet at West Virginia on Friday and finished fourth in the all-around with a 39.100. It marked the seventh-straight meet she scored over a 39.000 in the all-around.
On Sunday, Giameo was the meet's top performer as she scored career highs in two events and posted a career-best 39.325 in the all-round. Giameo scored a 9.850 or better in three of the four events and left with two gold medals winning vault and the all-around.
The Roselle Park, N.J., native won EAGL Gymnast of the Week honors on Feb. 12.
The 22nd-ranked Terps travel to Chapel Hill on Saturday for the EAGL Championships at North Carolina. The meet is scheduled to start at 2 p.m.
