Freshman Shatori Walker-Kimbrough added 16 points, redshirt senior Katie Rutan had 14 and freshman Lexie Brown scored 12 with six assists.

Walker-Kimbrough was voted ACC Rookie of the Week Monday for the second straight week. She has scored in double figures in 11 of 14 games and the last five straight. She is averaging 11.4 points per game and is among the league’s top scorers. She is shooting 53.6 percent from outside the arc, which is good for second in the conference.

Thomas leads the nation in double-doubles (13) and triple-doubles (12) and leads the ACC in rebounding (11.4). Maryland leads the ACC and is second in the nation with its rebounding margin of +15.6.  The Terps are second only to Liberty (+17.0). Wake’s Dearica Hamby and Chelsea Douglas lead the ACC in scoring with 21.0 and 20.1 points per game, respectively. The Terrapins won all three matchups with the Demon Deacons last year. In the last matchup, Maryland won 92-81 in overtime in the ACC Quarterfinals. Thomas led the way with a career-high 32 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists for her second career triple-double.

The Terrapins are ranked No. 6 in the latest Associated Press and in the USA Today Coaches polls.

After Thursday’s game, Maryland will welcome Syracuse (11-3, 0-1) Jan. 16 at 8:30 p.m. in College Park. The Terps-Orange matchup will be shown on RSN, which includes Comcast SportsNet locally.   For tickets, log on to the Terrapin Ticket Office online at umterps.com or call 1-800-IM-A-TERP.
