Before Maryland: A 2001 Parade Magazine All-American, Kirk has national team experience with the 2000 U.S. Under-18 national team and the 1998 U-16 squad … 2000 adidas Elite Soccer program participant … a four-year varsity starter at Montclair Kimberly Academy, where his team captured a share of the 1998 Prep B state championship … his high school team also won the 2000 Colonial Hills Conference championship and shared the title in 1998 … Kirk is a member of the Region I ODP team as well as the New Jersey State ODP team … Kirk’s club team, the Mercer United Warriors, won three state cup championship in their age group in 1999, 2000 and ’01, and were state cup finalists in 1998 … in 2000, the Warriors were also Region I state finalists … a two-year NSCAA All-East regional team member in 1999 and 2000, he is also a three-year all-state selection … the 2000 Essex County Soccer Coaches Association player of the year, he was also the Colonial Hills Conference player of the year in 1999 and a four-time all-conference selection.
