Before Maryland: Sumed Ibrahim played both soccer and basketball at The Walden School in Louisville, Ky. ... he was an All-American in soccer, as well as being the team MVP in 1996 and 1998 ... elected to the all-star team every year from 1996-98 ... Javanon, his club team, won the national championship in 1997 ... captain of Walden's team in 1998 and '99 ... named an Outstanding Senior in high school.
