DURHAM, N.C.- - The No. 12 Maryland men's soccer team lost a 1-0 decision to unranked Duke off a Trevor Perea goal in the sixth minute. The loss was the Terps' second of the week, evening their record at 3-3 and starting the Terps off with a 0-1 conference mark. The Blue Devils are now 4-2 and have a 1-0 conference record.
Freshman Noah Palmer (Williamsburg, Va.) handled the Terps' goalkeeping duties again, grabbing two saves in the loss. Duke's Scott Maslin had four saves in the shutout. Maryland did have several good opportuntities to score, but couldn't convert, finishing with eight shots overall to the Blue Devils' 12.
The Terps' next game is Sunday, Sept. 30 at noon vs. Wake Forest, where Maryland will be looking for its first conference victory. The Terrapin women's team will play Loyola directly following the men's game at Ludwig Field at 2:30 p.m.
