CLEMSON, S.C. - Jason Herrick tallied his fifth game-winning goal of the year Friday night as the No. 6 Maryland men's soccer team picked up a pivotal conference win, 1-0, on the road at Clemson.

Herrick netted his team-leading sixth goal of the year at 13:30. Sophomore Kaoru Forbess played a good one-touch ball wide to freshman defender Taylor Kemp who served a solid ball to Herrick. The Maryland junior captain then tucked it just inside the far post with a header for what proved to be the game-winner.

Maryland (9-3-1, 4-1-1 ACC) outshot the Tigers 12-9 in the match including a decisive 7-3 advantage in the first half.

The win is Maryland's fourth-straight and the sixth shutout by the Terrapin defense. It is the first win for Maryland at Clemson since 2003.

"This was a great win for us tonight," head coach Sasho Cirovski said. "I'm especially happy for our seniors who have not won here in their career. We came into a tough place to win and put out a great effort."

The Terps return to the friendly confines of Ludwig Field for a match against Seton Hall on Tuesday. First kick is slated for 7:30 p.m.
