AS A JUNIOR (2015): Named All-Big Ten First Team...started in all but three games at a mix of shortstop and outfield...set Maryland program record for most doubles in a season with 21, which also led the Big Ten and was third in NCAA...hit at a .369 clip, with a .469 on base percentage and .690 slugging percentage (13th in Big Ten)...eighth in Big Ten in walks (41)...went 4-for-7 with four RBI's and her first double and home run of the year in Coastal Carolina doubleheader (2/8)...went 2-for-4 with RBI single against Providence (2/13)...had clutch walk-off single in 9th inning of BYU game (2/19)...continued clutch ways with a walk-off sac fly against Fordham (2/27)...went 1-for-2 with a double and two walks against Mississippi State (2/27)...skied a go-ahead three run home run at #16 UCF (3/3)...named Big Ten player of the Week for 3/9-3/16...went a combined 5-for-6 with five runs and five RBI's including a double and two home runs in home opening double header against Lafayette (3/15)...hit fifth home run of the year against Princeton (3/16)...blasted a go-ahead two RBI double in 7th inning of furious Maryland comeback in Big Ten opener against Iowa (3/20) as a part of a 3-for-4 two run, two double performance...went 3-for-3 with three runs, two RBI's, and two doubles in 19-0 win against Iowa (3/22)...sparked another Maryland come from behind win with a 2-for-3, two run, two double, two RBi perfomance against Ohio State (3/27); had crucial walk in a four run 6th inning, and a RBI double in the 7th...went 4-for-5 with three RBI's against Indiana (4/5)...tallied two more doubles in 2-for-3 showing against Illinois (4/10)...hit a homerun in three straight games (Illinois, Penn State x2)...went 2-for-3 with a two run homerun in Penn State opener (4/17)...had leadoff homer in 2-for-3 outing the next day against Penn State (4/18)...went 2-for-3 with record setting double against #4 Michigan (4/25)...went 2-for-3 with amazing defensive stop to save a run in Big Ten Tournament against Penn State (5/7). 

AS A SOPHOMORE (2014): Missed final 11 games of season to injury...hit .286 with 20 RBIs, 16 runs and four home runs...notched two hits and three RBIs, including a two-run home run, at FIU (2/7)...went 3-for-3 with two runs at FIU (2/8)...knocked in a pair of runs against South Carolina (2/14)...hit 2-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored vs. Long Beach State (2/20)...posted six RBIs in three games against Georgia Tech (3/15-16), including third career grand slam (first of season), in the third game...scored three runs in game two at North Carolina (3/22), followed by a two-RBI performance in the third game of the series...went 3-for-4 with an RBI in game two at #8 Florida State (4/5)...went 1-for-2 with a homer against Delaware State (4/16).

AS A FRESHMAN (2013): Named All-ACC First Team and ACC Freshman of the Year…became first Terp to earn ACC FOY in 17 years…made 54 appearances, including 51 starts primarily at shortstop and third base…set the Maryland program record with 59 RBIs, which also led the ACC…third in ACC in slugging pct. (.721), third in runs scored (52), fifth in OBP (.443), fifth in total bases (106), sixth in batting average (.347), eighth in home runs (12)…made first collegiate appearance against No. 14 Michigan (2/16)…hit first career home run against Fairfield (3/2)…made first collegiate start versus LIU-Brooklyn (2/17), notching two hits, three RBIs and three runs…had a career-high five RBIs against Ohio State, smashing a pair of home runs…added four more RBIs in the following game against Binghamton…went 2-for-2  with four RBIs and three runs scored at Georgia Tech (4/14)…tied up the game with a grand slam in the first round of the ACC Tournament against Virginia Tech (5/9).

Before Maryland: Played four years of varsity softball at Northern High School for Robert Earl won four straight state titles in her went undefeated in her junior (2011) and senior (2012) a senior, she hit .641 with 49 runs scored (2012)...named The Washington Post's All-Met First Team shortstop in her sophomore, junior and senior seasons and the All-Met Player of the Year in her senior season...named All-SMAC Player of the Year as a senior, First Team in sophomore, junior, seniors years and Second Team as a freshman...named to Calvert Independent and Calvert Recorder All-County First Team in sophomore, junior, senior years and Player of the Year as a sophomore...named a MaxPreps All-American and an ESPNHS All-American as a senior...also played for the Severna Park Hornets for Melissa won gold at the 2011 18U Nationals...she hit .478 with three home runs in that tournament...also played four years of varsity volleyball at captured three perfect regular seasons in her freshman (2008), sophomore (2009) and junior (2010) seasons...they won a state title in 2009, went to state semifinals in 2008 and were regional runners-up in 2010 and 2011...graduated with a GPA of 3.8.

Personal: Lindsey Schmeiser...parents are Harold and Laurie Schmeiser...has one sister, Kaitlyn, who plays softball at Maryland, and a brother, Alec...nickname is LuLu...lists Bryce Harper as her sports hero...came to Maryland for softball, the veterinary program and it was close to home...also considered Virginia Tech, James Madison and Massachusetts...pre-vet major.
