COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Strong performances from football, men’s soccer and field hockey has vaulted Maryland to No. 21 in the final fall standings of the Learfield Sports Directors’ Cup as released on Thursday. The Terps are tied for 21st with Texas A&M with 198.00 points.
With its berth in the Military Bowl, the Terrapin football team posted 25 points towards the total.
The men’s soccer team accumulated 90 points after advancing to the national championship game, while field hockey earned 83 points after making its sixth consecutive trip to the Final Four this past season.
Maryland is one of six Atlantic Coast Conference teams in the top 25 of the Learfield Sports Directors’ Cup standings. The ACC leads all conferences with five schools in the top 10.
The first Division I winter standings will be released Thursday, March 27.
