COLLEGE PARK, Md. – No. 7 Maryland women’s basketball will welcome crosstown opponent George Washington to Comcast Center Tuesday night for a 7 p.m. matchup. General admission tickets and select concessions are $1 for the game.
All small hot dogs, small popcorn and small sodas are $1. To purchase $1 tickets, log on to the Terrapin Ticket Office online at umterps.com.
All fans are asked to bring a teddy bear to donate for the annual Teddy Bear Toss. All bears will be tossed onto the court at halftime and donated to the Johns Hopkins Childrens Unit. Bears can be registered at the marketing tables and if registered bears hit a target on the court, fans win a prize.
The Terps-Colonials matchup will be shown live online for a fee on TerpsTV Premium.
Maryland (2-1) used a strong first half to go toe-to-toe with No. 1 Connecticut, but fell behind late in the second to fall, 72-55, at Comcast Center Friday.
Preseason All-American Alyssa Thomas came out aggressive from the tip, scoring all seven of Maryland’s first points. She had a double-double in the first half, and wound up with 20 points and 14 rebounds for the Terrapins. Senior Katie Rutan added 11 points.
The Colonials (2-0) are coming off of a 75-72 upset win over No. 10 California Friday night in Washington D.C.
Maryland and George Washington haven’t met since Nov. 19, 2006. Maryland won 73-48 in Comcast Center.
After Tuesday’s tilt, the Terrapins will travel to Towson Saturday for an 8 p.m. game, before returning home to host Drexel Nov. 25.
