On Williams: Athletic senior receiver who gives the Terps a big target with the ability to get downfield … tall, athletic receiver with good speed and the ability to gain extra yards after the catch … shared time as the starter in 2002 with Latrez Harrison … will likely start opposite Harrison in ‘03 … is one of just three returning ACC receivers to average over 20 yards per reception last year (minimum 15 rec.) … Jason Anderson (WFU) and Craphonso Thorpe (FSU) are the others … enters the season 24 receptions shy of the Maryland career Top 10 … will also finish in the school’s top 10 for receiving yards if he can match his output from 2002 … benched 365 and cleaned 330 pounds in spring testing.

(Orange Bowl) provided one of the bright spots in the Orange Bowl with his 64-yard touchdown reception in the first quarter … finished the game with four catches for 91 yards ... 2000 (Redshirt Freshman): Appeared in 10 of 11 games as a redshirt freshman … played a significant role in Maryland’s wideout rotation, catching nine passes for 113 yards (12.6 average) … recorded a career-best three catches (for 27 yards) in the season finale vs. Georgia Tech … also had a pair of receptions in the season opener vs. Temple … had a season-best 36-yard reception vs. Middle Tennessee State.

1999 (Freshman): Redshirt season.

High School: A 1999 graduate of George Washington High School in Philadelphia, Pa. … earned first team all-city and first team all-area honors as a senior in 1998 after catching 38 passes for 560 yards and eight touchdowns in a wing T offense … named All-Met by both the Philadelphia Inquirer and Philadelphia Daily News … was one of 10 players in the Philadelphia area to receive a Maxwell Award for academic and athletic excellence … had three interceptions while playing in the defensive secondary … was a team captain as a senior … also runs track, clocking a 10.7 100 meters … one of three players from GWHS to sign with the Terps, joining teammates Scott Smith and Bruce Perry.
