On Dugan: A talented tight end who enters his fourth and final season as a starter … described by his coaches as the best blocking tight end in the conference … has ideal tight end size … a starter in 34 games for his career … big, strong, physical player with good hands … strongest tight end on the team … benched 350 and squatted 540 in spring testing … finished second on the team in receptions as a redshirt freshman in 2000 … earned honorable mention All-ACC honors a year ago.

2000 (Redshirt Freshman): A 10-game starter at tight end who emerged as one of the promising young talents in the Atlantic Coast Conference … finished second on the team in receptions (25) and receiving yards (319) … named the Terps’ Freshman of the Year … opened the season with 12 catches in the first three games, closed the campaign with 13 receptions in the final five games … lone touchdown reception (10 yards from Calvin McCall) came against Wake Forest … had career personal highs for receptions (5) and receiving yards (91) vs. Middle Tennessee State.

1999 (Freshman): Redshirt season.

High School: Graduated from Central Catholic High School in Pittsburgh, Pa. ... rated the top tight end prospect in the state of Pennsylvania, according to recruiting analyst Tom Lemming ... caught 20 passes in 1998 for 225 yards and four touchdowns ... had 11 catches for 210 yards as a junior ... also played defensive end where he had 57 tackles, six sacks, four forced fumbles and a pair of fumble recoveries as a senior ... collected 98 tackles with seven TFL and three sacks as a junior ... was a first team all-league defensive end for two seasons, and a second team all-league tight end for two seasons ... was a two-year starter, and the team captain as a senior ... also participated in track as an outstanding shot putter.
