Sports … also a freshman All-ACC pick by Rivals.com … played in nine games with starts against Temple (9/24), Boston College (10/29), Wake Forest (11/19) and NC State (11/26) … missed three games with an injury … had a team-high five sacks, the second most by a Maryland freshman in the last nine years (Adrian Moten - 5.5 in 2007; Shawne Merriman - 5.0 in 2002) … tied Joe Vellano for the team lead with 7.5 TFLs … in his first collegiate game (Miami, 9/5), recorded four tackles, a sack and 1.5 tackles for loss … matched that effort against West Virginia (9/17) with another sack and 1.5 tackles for loss … made one solo stop against Temple (9/24) before suffering an injury that also sidelined him for the Towson (10/1), Georgia Tech (10/8) and Clemson (10/15) games … returned to action against Florida State (10/22) but didn’t record a tackle … started against Boston College (10/29) but didn’t make a tackle … came off the bench against Virginia (11/5) and assisted on one tackle for loss … assisted on two tackles, one of which was a sack, against Notre Dame (11/12) … set career highs with five tackles, three of them unassisted, and 2.5 sacks against Wake Forest (11/19) … the 2.5 sacks were the most by a Maryland player since Shawne Merriman had 3.0 against North Carolina on 11/2/02 … had three tackles including one for loss against NC State (11/26).
