COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Eight former University of Maryland men’s lacrosse players will take part in the 2014 Major League Lacrosse All-Star Game, which will feature Team MLL taking on Team USA, on June 26.

Five Terps will don the Red, White and Blue as members of the 30-man roster for the U.S. National Team, which is preparing to compete at the 2014 FIL World Championships from July 10-19 in Denver.

Jesse Bernhardt (2013), Dan Burns (2011), Jeff Reynolds (2009), Drew Snider (2012) and Lee Zink (2004) made the 30-man, which was selected in February from an original pool of 98 players through a seven-month selection process.

Maryland’s five selections are tied for the most of any college program with Johns Hopkins, which also has five alums among the 30-man roster.

Maryland will also be well represented on Team MLL with three Terrapin alums putting on the special blackout uniforms as MLL All-Stars. Maryland’s three All-Star selections are tied for the most of any college program with Duke, which also has three alums on Team MLL.

Joe Walters (2006), the Terps’ all-time goals leader, of the Chesapeake Bayhawks will be making his sevent all-star appearance after playing in just three MLL games this season after helping the Rochester Knighthawks claim its third-straight NLL Championship. In those three games Walters has scored one goal and added seven assists, which is tied for 12th in the league.

Jeremy Sieverts (2009) will be making his third all-star appearance, after totaling 23 points on 14 goals and four assists for the Denver Outlaws. Sieverts leads the league with five two-point goals this season, which is three more than five other players who are tied for second place with two.

Brett Schmidt (2011) will be appearing in his second all-star game debut after picking up 14 groundballs through eight games for the Charlotte Hounds. Schmidt has also scored one two-point goal for the Hounds this season.

The 2014 MLL All-Star Game will be played on June 26 at 7:30 p.m. at Harvard Stadium in Boston. The game will also be televised live on CBS Sports Network.
