The Bob Matey Award is presented to the video coordinator who displays innovation, determination, perseverance, and technical skill as portrayed by the late Bob Matey, video coordinator from Texas A&M. Prior to the formation of the Collegiate Sports Video Association in 1995, Matey played a crucial role in the formation of the organization in order to cultivate value and respect to the video coordinator position.
Brown is entering his fourth year at Maryland as the football video coordinator. Brown oversees all team video operations and game analysis for the football coaching staff at Maryland. He also manages the partnership with DVSport and other game analysis and network software. Most recently, Brown was named the 2013-2014 ACC Video Coordinator of the Year, an award voted on by peers in the ACC.
Brown landed in College Park after spending two years as the Assistant Director of Video Services at the University of Connecticut.
Prior to his stint at UConn, he spent three years at Middle Tennessee State University as the first full-time video coordinator in school’s history. He has also spent two years as an assistant video coordinator at the University of South Carolina.
Brown is a Georgetown, S.C., native and a 2004 graduate of Benedict College.
