COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Each week during the 2013-14 season a Maryland student-athlete, who has shown excellence on and off the playing field, will be selected as the Solomon Eye Associates Terp of the Week. Maryland quarterback C.J. Brown has been named the Solomon Eye Associates Terp of the Week for the second time this fall after a stellar performance in a 41-21 victory at NC State on Saturday.

Brown displayed dominance in both the running and passing game against the Wolfpack. He led all players on the field in both rushing yards and passing yards. Brown accounted for five touchdowns, three of which were rushing scores. He finished the day with a game-high and season-high 138 rushing yards. The quarterback was 13-for-25 for 259 passing yards and threw no interceptions.

His impressive game set multiple milestones for the senior: fourth-most touchdowns responsible for in a season in program history, sixth-most touchdowns responsible for in a career in school history, and it marked his seventh 100-yard rushing game of his career, which is the most for any active quarterback in the ACC and ties for the sixth most among active quarterbacks nationally among FBS programs.

Heading into halftime with a 34-14 lead, a distant memory of the Terps’ 2011 loss in Raleigh lingered. But this time, Brown and the Terps pushed through for the win for their seventh victory of the season.

“I didn’t remember the score [from two years ago], but I knew the situation,” Brown said. “I knew we were up big and then they started creeping back. We knew that situation. It definitely flashed through my mind and we weren’t going to be denied. We understood. Protect the ball when you’re out there, just be smart and make sure we don’t kill ourselves with penalties.”

With the victory, Brown and the Terps finished the regular season at 7-5 and are bowl eligible for the first time since 2010. The Terps will find out their bowl destination on Sunday. For information or to purchase tickets, visit
