COLLEGE PARK, MD. - The University of Maryland women's cross country team returns to action at the Delaware Blue & Gold Invitational at Lums Pond State Park in Newark, Del., on Friday, Oct. 12.
Senior Julie Fricke, Maryland's lone NCAA individual qualifier last season, could make her season debut on Friday, but will be a race-time decision, according to Maryland head coach Andrew Valmon. Last season, Fricke won the Blue & Gold Invitational, traversing the 6k course in 22:10.04.
Sophomore Myah Hicks, who was Maryland's top finisher at the Paul Short Invitational on Sept. 28 at Lehigh. Hicks also led the Terps across the line at the Navy Salty Dog Invitational on Sept. 15. This will be Hicks' first time running the Lums Pond State Park course as she did not compete in the event last season as a freshman.

She followed Hicks to the finish at the Paul Short two weeks ago to be the Terps' second scorer. Roth did not compete at the Blue & Gold Invitational last year, so this will be her first time running the Newark, Del., course.
