WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Maryland women’s tennis team continued its fall season with a solid showing at the Wake Forest Invitational in Winston-Salem, N.C. this weekend.

Sophomore Nataliya Bredikhina put together the Terrapins’ best singles performance, going 3-2 to finish in third place in the B singles draw. Bredikhina also combined with her sister Olga to reach the semifinals of A doubles.

In singles, the Terps started slow, with only Nataliya Bredikhina winning her opening singles match. Sophomore Olga Gaistruk and freshman Olivia Gaudreault rebounded by winning their two consolation matches.

Bredikhina’s road to third place included a win over Anna Abadias of Richmond in the second round. The sophomore beat Davidson’s Laina Cummer to win her final match of the tournament.

The sisters went 2-1 in doubles, while Gaudreault and Gaistruk teamed to go 1-1 on the weekend.

Maryland retakes the court for a scrimmage against Penn on Oct 12.
