BALTIMORE, Md. - Head coach Randy Edsall and members of the University of Maryland football team spent Tuesday visiting patients at the University of Maryland Children’s Hospital.

Sal Conaboy, Rashid Conteh, Nick Klemm, Tehuti Miles, Greg Parcher and Zeke Riser joined Edsall to spend time with children in “The Forest” play area of the hospital.

"It is just great being here today,” said Edsall. “I look forward to this during the open week to come up to the University of Maryland Children's Hospital to spend time with young people here. To be able to come and put a smile on their face, kind of get their minds off what is troubling them is great. When you see the smiles on people's faces it makes you feel good and makes you feel like you're making their day a little brighter, so it's a very special day for us."

Edsall and the players helped the children try on shoulder pads and helmets, signed autographs and posed for pictures with patients and their families.

“Getting to spend time with these kids makes you realize how fortunate you are,” said Conaboy. “I hope the kids enjoyed the experience as much as my teammates and I did.”

The football team returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 5 in Tallahassee, Fla. against the Florida State Seminoles.
