As a redshirt junior (2002): Returned from an ACL injury which kept him out of the entire 2001 season … played in 11 games, scoring six goals on 16 shots … notched second career hat trick vs. Mount St. Mary’s (2/26), including a man-up goal … tallied at Duke (3/2) … scored a key extra-man goal vs. Virginia (3/30) … scored late against UMBC (5/4) in finale.

As a junior (2001): Missed the entire season after tearing the ACL in his right knee in practice on March 23.

As a sophomore (2000): Came on late playing in nine games, starting four … finished with 10 goals for 10 points on 24 shots … scored all of his goals in a six-game streak … made season debut against Virginia (3/31) and tallied two goals for second career multi-goal game … the pair of tallies included his only extra-man goal of the season and brought the Terps to within one goal at 8-7 in the fourth quarter … notched game-tying goal in the fourth quarter against Navy (4/8) to make the score 5-5 before the Terps won 6-5 … posted first career hat trick against Johns Hopkins (4/16) … that gave him six career goals in three games televised by WMAR-TV … drew first starting assignment on the heels of his three-goal outburst in the ACC semifinal against Duke (4/21) and continued scoring streak with a goal … also took a career-high six shots and matched that with a career-high six groundballs … started and scored twice in the ACC title game against Virginia (4/23) in the fourth quarter … named to the 2000 ACC All-Tournament Team ... finished scoring binge with a goal against Yale (4/28) … also started against UMBC (5/6) before returning to the bench in the NCAA Tournament.

As a freshman (1999): Played in 10 games, starting one, against Virginia (4/23) in ACC semifinals … scored two goals against Providence (2/27) … scored Maryland’s first goal against Johns Hopkins (4/16) as he took three shots and scooped up five groundballs in most playing time of the season … grabbed only other groundball against Virginia in ACC’s.

Before Maryland: Two-sport performer at Loyola High School in Towson, Md. … played two years of lacrosse under Joe McFadden … led his team in scoring as a senior … team finished as MIAA runner-up in 1997 … named to the Towson Times second team as a senior … lettered in football twice … helped lead team to MIAA championship in football in 1997.

Personal: Matthew Patrick Urlock … born July 19, 1980 in Maryland …son of Jeanne and Marty Urlock … brother of Molly (19) … comes from family with lacrosse background … cousins Dan Radebaugh and Tucker Radebaugh played lacrosse at Maryland and Virginia, respectively, and were All-Americans … majoring in communications.
