LEWISBURG, Pa. - A total team effort was on display Tuesday at Christy Mathewson Stadium as the No. 5 Maryland men's lacrosse team topped the host Bucknell Bison, 16-6.

The Terps (4-1 overall) had 13 different players score goals led by Dan LaMonica (Parkton, Md.), who had three. Nate Watkins (Elmira, N.Y.) added two goals as 11 others scored.

Included in that group were defenseman Chris Passavia (Stony Brook, N.Y.) -- who scored his first career goal and Michael Howley (Wantagh, N.Y.).

As coach Dave Cottle continues to try and get more players involved in the offense, the other goals came from Matt Brock (Manakin-Sabot, Va.), Paul Gillette (Severna Park, Md.), Craig Hochstadt (Columbia, Md.), Mike LaMonica (Parkton, Md.), Mike Mollot (Holbrook, N.Y.), Ryan Moran (Setauket, N.Y.), Mike Morsell (Huntingdon Valley, Pa.), Willy Passavia (Stony Brook, N.Y.) and Alex Poole (Hunt Valley, Md.)

Maryland now leads the nation in total goals with 71, surpassing Denver's total of 67.

The Terps also made efficient use of their shots, posting just 34 -- as compared to 61 vs. Towson in last Saturday's 15-10 win over the Tigers. Of the 34 shots against Bucknell, 29 were on goal.

Maryland jumped out to a 4-1 lead at the end of the first quarter and stretched it to 8-3 at halftime as Hochstadt scored as the halftime horn sounded.

In nets, junior Dan McCormick (McLean, Va.) continued his outstanding play, making eight saves in the first 49 minutes of action. T.C. Behm (Villanova, Pa.) and Matt Rzepkowski (Ellicott City, Md.) came on in relief with Rzepkowski making four saves.

The Terps host Delaware this Saturday at 1 p.m. at Byrd Stadium.
