ST. LOUIS - Patrick Mullins was named a finalist for the 2013 Missouri Athletic Club’s (MAC) Hermann Trophy, college soccer’s top individual award, Thursday.
Mullins, the 2012 MAC Hermann Trophy winner, ranks third all-time in career goals at Maryland with 44 heading into the College Cup this weekend in Philadelphia. The New Orleans, native has tallied 16 goals and eight assists for a nation-best 40 points in 2013.
Maryland is a staggering 31-1-5 the past four seasons when Mullins notches at least one goal.
The two-time first team All-ACC honoree and two-time ACC Championship Most Valuable Player, Mullins will join Notre Dame’s Harrison Shipp and UCLA’s Leo Stolz at the prestigious Missouri Athletic Club in St. Louis for a banquet where winners will be announced Friday, Jan. 10, 2014.
The Terps face Virginia Friday at 7:30 p.m. at PPL Park in the semifinals of the 2013 NCAA Men's Soccer Championship.
