Maryland Falls to 9th After 2nd Round at ACCs

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Maryland Women’s golf team fell to ninth place after shooting a 321 today in the second round of the ACC Championships. Senior Christine Shimel had the team’s lowest round after carding a 79 for the second consecutive day.

Juliet Vongphoumy is still the team’s top player, and sits T26 after two rounds of play. Shimel and freshman Heidi Baek are both tied for 33rd after recording a 158 in the first two rounds.

Duke University has an 11 stroke lead after today’s round and heads into Sunday at +17 as a team.The final round of the championship will tee off tomorrow morning.
