COLLEGE PARK, Md. – The Maryland woman’s golf team will travel to John’s Island, South Carolina to compete in the Briar’s Creek Invitational on March 25-26. The 54-hole event at the par-72, 6,120 yard course at Briar’s Creek Golf Club will feature 36 holes on Monday and 18 on Tuesday.
Maryland is coming off a 13th place finish at the Insperity Lady Jaguar Invitational last weekend, with the team’s best finish coming from sophomore Juliet Vongphoumy (T25th). This event’s lineup will feature Vongphumy in addition to Christine Shimel, Emily Gimpel, and Jessica Gregory.
The tournament will also feature Augusta State, Campbell, Central Florida, Coastal Carolina, College of Charleston, East Carolina, Furman, Georgetown, Indiana, Kansas, Kansas State, Mississippi State, Notre Dame, Penn State, South Florida, and Wisconsin.
Monday’s opening round will begin with a 9:15 a.m. shotgun start, followed by 9:00 a.m. shotgun start for Tuesday’s final round. Live scoring will be available at golfstat.com, and daily recaps will be posted on umterps.com.
