As a Sophomore (2011-12): Went 2-5 wrestling at 197 and 285 pounds...earned a 9-1 major decision over Alex Henry of Franklin & Marshall at 285 to open the season...majored Army's Philip Steinburg, 14-2, at 197 in the opening round of the Brockport/Oklahoma Gold Invitational...wrestled at heavyweight in duals against Virginia Tech and Navy.
As a Redshirt Freshman (2010-11): Went 6-8 at 197 pounds...topped Buffalo's Tyler Peter at the Brockport Open for first victory of the season...pinned Maximillian Wessel of Lehigh and topped Edinboro's Nathanial Gaffney of Edinboro at Nittany Lion Open.
As a Freshman (2009-10): Served a redshirt season ... went 16-14 on the season in open competition while splitting time at 184 and 197 pounds ... went 12-8 at 184 pounds and 4-6 at 197 ... took home the 184-pound title at the Fall Brawl on Nov. 14 after going 4-0 ... recorded one win by pin-fall and one by technical fall at the Fall Brawl.
Before Maryland: Lettered four years in wrestling for the Squires...three-time district champion...two-time regional champ...state runner-up as a senior...three-time all-state selection...also a FILA Cadet Greco All-America runner-up.
Personal: Son of Ken and Deb Brown...father wrestled at Salisbury...has two brothers, Alex, who wrestled at Boston University, and Nick, his twin, as well as two sisters, Jessica and Lauren...finished high school with 3.25 GPA...favorite athlete is Brett Favre...also recruited by Bucknell, Virginia and Bloomsburg.
