Terps Prepare To Travel To East Stroudsburg Open

Nov. 19, 2002

The Maryland Terrapins will travel to Pennsylvania this Saturday, Nov. 23, for the East Stroudsburg Open.

Senior's Jake Stork, Sal Aquia and Eric Fehnel, and sophomore Barry Stein all competed last Sunday at the West Virginia Open in a tune-up for this weekend's tournament.

This was the first competition for Aquia in two seasons, and the first for Fehnel since the 1999-2000 season. Aquia wrestled his way to a second place finish in the 197-pound weight class, while Stork was able to muster a fourth place showing. Both Fehnel and Stein won their first match, but then fell in their two subsequent consecutive matches.

Stork is looking to duplicate last season's victory at the East Stroudsburg Open as he leads the Terps into their first full-team tournament of the season.

"We are expecting to see what some of our freshmen have," said Coach John McHugh. "Hopefully Stork will be able to win this tournament again, and the rest of the team will have a strong showing."

Patrick Cissne, ankle, Dan Scheets, back, Mike Lupa, ankle, and John Antonelli, knee, are all questionable for this weekend's tournament due to injury.

The Terps will be in action next after the East Stroudsburg Open, in State College, Pa., for the Penn State Open which will take place Sunday, Dec. 1.
