COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Coming off a lopsided win last week against ACC foe NC State, the Maryland Terrapin wrestling team will try to continue that momentum as it plays host to VMI on Saturday, Feb. 21, at 1 p.m. Admission to Comcast Pavilion is free.
The Terps (2-7) won eight bouts on their way to a 28-6 win over the Wolfpack last week. Helping to lead the way was freshman Alex Krom, who was recognized as the ACC's Wrestler of the Week for his 15-0 technical fall victory.
The Keydets (1-4-1) tied Davidson in their last outing. Last season, Maryland and VMI tied 18-18 in Lexington, Va. The Terps led 18-12 heading into the final bout, but had to surrender the six points with a forfeit at heavyweight.
Following Saturday's dual, the Terps will have a busy week at home as they host ACC rival Virginia Tech on Friday, Feb. 27, at 7 p.m., and follow that up the next day with a double-dual against North Carolina and Duke on Saturday, Feb. 28, beginning at 1 p.m.
