Three Terps Place First at Simonson Construction Open

ASHLAND, Ohio - Josh Asper, Pat Strizki and Casey Marwine all won their weight divisions last Saturday at the Simonson Construction Open at Ashland University in Ashland, Ohio.

Asper went 4-0 at 165 pounds to win his third consecutive open title. Asper previously placed first at the "Shorty" Hitchcock Memorial Classic and Messiah Open. Asper has now won 12 straight matches, overall, to improve to 29-7 on the season.

Included in Asper's four pins was a pair of falls, including one in 1 minute, 39 seconds against John Doyle.

Pat Strizki continued his recent success at 125 pounds, winning his second consecutive open title. Strizki won three decisions to place first after winning the Messiah Open the last time he hit the mat.

Casey Marwine won four straight matches at 133 pounds to place first. All four of Marwine's victories came via decision.

Ryan Gray also placed for the Terps, finishing fourth at 184 pounds.

Shawn Mazzarone and Tommy Sitar also participated in the event.
