COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The Maryland wrestling team travels to Troy, N.Y. on Saturday, November 24 to take part in the Journeymen/BRUTE Northeast Duals held at Hudson Valley Community College. The Terrapins will take on No. 5 Michigan, Appalachian State, and No. 9 Central Michigan during the trip. Admission to the event is $20.
The Terps open the day with the Wolverines at noon and then face Appalachian State at 2:30 p.m. Maryland closes out the Northeast Duals when it faces Central Michigan at 4:30 p.m.
Maryland (2-2) is coming off of a third place finish at the Body Bar Systems Invitational hosted by Cornell. The No. 8 Big Red won the tournament while No. 11 Wisconsin placed second. Eight wrestlers placed for the Terps with freshman Eric Medina and redshirt junior Josh Haines taking individual titles at 149 and 184 pounds, respectively. Redshirt sophomore Hudson Taylor placed second at 197 pounds.
The Terps opened the dual season with a pair of wins against Army and Mercyhurst but have dropped the last two against Edinboro and Penn State, both nationally ranked teams.
This will be the first dual action of the season for both Michigan and Central Michigan. Appalachian State lost its only dual meet of the season, 21-16, at Virginia Tech.
The Terps will host their first meet of the season on Sunday, December 2 against Lehigh. That match is set for 2:00 p.m. at Comcast Pavilion.
