COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Freshman Eric Medina has earned one of the conference's four wild card bids to the NCAA Championship which was decided by a meeting of the ACC coaches Sunday morning. Medina will join the five Terrapins who won ACC titles and are already headed to St. Louis from March 20-22.

Medina advanced to the final of the 149 pound championship in Saturday's ACC Tournament but lost to NC State's Darrion Caldwell, ranked No. 8 in the country. As the second seed in the bracket, Medina received a first round bye and then beat North Carolina's Vincent Ramirez, the third seed, 11-6, to advance to the final.

Medina is currently 20-11 this season with six falls and four major decisions. He has two wins over ranked opponents with a major decision against No. 5 Scott Ervin of Appalachian State and a fall versus No. 14 Don Fisch of Rider. Medina was ranked as high as No. 13 at one point this year.

Virginia's Chris Henrich, NC State's Ryan Goodman, and North Carolina's Keegan Mueller earned the other three wild card bids.
