Q: What has been your best memory of your four years of wrestling at Maryland?
A: Going to nationals the past two years has been the best memory so far, hopefully by the end of this year I can top that memory.

Q: What has been your best memory of your four years in general at Maryland?
A: Hanging out with all my teammates. The last few years have been an absolute blast.

Q: Coach McHugh says that he remembers wrestlers by their favorite moves. How will he remember you?
A: I guess my favorite move is the cradle. I get most of my pins with it and it has pulled me out of a lot of tough matches.

Q: Is there one match in particular that sticks out in your head as memorable?
A: My matches in the finals of ACC's the past two years. I lost both times to Jim Massey, after beating him in the regular season. They are not memorable in a good way but they do motivate me to do better this year by not slowing down at the end of the season.

Q: What were your goals coming in to the season?
A: My primary goal coming into this year was to be an All-American. Another goal was to win ACC's since I've come in second twice. I'll find out in about a month if I've worked hard enough to accomplish them.

Q: What are your goals for the rest of the season?
A: I guess they are the same as my goals for coming into the year. Plus get a few more pins to pad my lead in the nation.

Q:To what do you attribute your success?
A: Working hard in the gym helped a lot, I'm a lot stronger this year. I also added some moves to complement my cradle so my opponents had more to worry about.

Q: What do you expect to get out of nationals?
A: I'm hoping to place in the top eight and become an All-American.

Q: What do you foresee for the rest of the team this season?
A: We are going to surprise a lot of teams at the ACC championships. Unfortunately it gets harder every year to qualify for nationals. I think we should be able to get at least five guys into the finals of the ACC championships and about four or so to nationals. Although, if things go very well, we could possibly have as many as seven finalists.

Q: What was the best thing about wrestling for Coach McHugh?
A: Coach McHugh and I have gotten along really well over the past five years. He wasn't afraid to call you out if you weren't working hard enough or performing well. It's his honesty that I really liked about wrestling for him.

Q: What do you think of coach's retirement?
A: I think he's served our team and the university as best as he or any other coach could have, and I hope he enjoys his retirement because he's earned it.

Q: What does life after wrestling hold for you?
A: Hopefully I can get a job that permits me to give back to the wrestling community.

Q: Would you try to pursue a career in wrestling?
A: I would like to coach later on in my life but as far as wrestling after this year, I'm going to be hanging up my shoes. My body needs time to recover.

Q: Ideally if you looked at your life 25 years down the road, where would you like to be?
A: I want to own my own business, possibly in real estate or marketing.

Q: Who inspires you?
A: People who overachieve, because I know how hard it is to give 100% all of the time.

Q: Who motivates you?
A: My family motivates me because they have been so supportive over my career. I want to pay them back by accomplishing as much as I can.

Q: What makes Jake Stork tick?
A: Having a good time, but being able to get serious if I have to. Life is no fun if your serious all the time.
