Taylor, a two-time all-American at 197 pounds, is one of five repeat members on the ACC's all-academic team after earning the league's Scholar Athlete of the Year Award in wrestling a year ago. Taylor is the only Maryland grappler on the NWCA team.
Taylor earned his way onto both teams with a cumulative GPA of 3.298 in Interactive Performance Art.
Joining Taylor on the ACC team are teammates Danny Bichner (Letters & Sciences), Mike Hromada (Letters & Sciences), Patrick Klenkel (Government), James Knox (Kinesiology) and Dex Lederer (Letters & Sciences).
Duke led the ACC with eight grapplers on the all-academic team, headlined by Scholar Athlete of the Year John Barone.
Members of the ACC all-academic team must have maintained a cumulative GPA better than 3.0 for their careers and achieved a 3.0 or better the last two semesters. Members of the NWCA all-academic team must own a 3.2 GPA or better and been an NCAA qualifier. NCAA all-Americans can also earn a spot on the team with a 3.0 GPA or better.
