As a freshman (2012): Started in 20 of the Terps' 24 games and saw action in all...scored her first career goal vs. #15 Ohio State (Sept. 2)...in that game, she put in a rebounded shot for a 1-0 Terps lead in the 20th minute...scored twice against #19 UMass, both within 1:47 of each other (Sept. 8)...notched first career assist in Terps come-from-behind win over #18 Boston College (Sept. 14)...scored Terps' second goal for a 2-1 lead at #7 Virginia in second half (Sept. 28)...notched two assists in Terps' 9-0 rout of Towson (Oct. 16)...scored team's first goal in 2-0 win over #13 Lafayette in the NCAA First Round (Nov. 10).
Before Maryland: Played four years of varsity hockey at Crestwood High School and was team captain in her senior year...lead team to District II championships in 2009 and 2010 and the state semifinals as a junior...as a sophomore and as a senior, Dessoye and Crestwood went to the state quarterfinals.
Personal: Anna Patricia Dessoye...parents are Dale and Karen Dessoye...has two siblings, Elizabeth and Joshua...favorite pregame meal is pasta...enjoys outdoor activities...came to Maryland for the diversity, field hockey team and academics...also considered Duke, Syracuse and Penn State.
