#14 Maryland Returns Home to Host The Mount

COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- The 14th-ranked Maryland women's basketball team (7-2) will open a three-game homestand Wednesday vs. Mount St. Mary's (1-6). The Terps and the Mountaineers will tip off at 6:30 p.m. at the XFINITY Center. For tickets, click here or call 1-800-IM-A-TERP.

Fans are encouraged to bring stuffed animals Wednesday night to toss onto the court at halftime as part of the Terrapins' annual Teddy Bear Toss. All stuffed animals collected will be donated to College Park Youth and Family Services. Fans will have the chance to win prizes if they register their teddy bears at the marketing table and their teddy bear lands on the target on the floor.

All fans in attendance will receive a basketball bingo card and have the opportunity to win prizes for single bingo and blackout bingo.

Wednesday is also Faculty and Staff Appreciation night. University of Maryland faculty and staff can claim complimentary tickets for themselves and up to four members of their immediate families. Click here for the Terrapins' full promotional schedule.

Five Terrapins are currently scoring in double figures - Kaila Charles (19.1), Ieshia Small (11.9), Stephanie Jones (11.7), Kristen Confroy (11.2) and Blair Watson (11.1).

The Terrapins won at Akron, 75-54, Saturday. Confroy went 5-for-7 from three-point range for a season-high 23 points and nine boards in front of her hometown crowd. Charles scored 23 points with a career-high 14 rebounds for her fourth double-double of the year.

Charles was named to the Big Ten Player of the Week Honor Roll Monday after averaging 18.0 points and 10.0 rebounds in the Terps' two wins.

Maryland is 7-0 vs. Mount St. Mary's. Last year, the Terps won 106-42 on Nov. 18 in College Park. Small had 14 points and seven boards and Charles scored 10 points.

Maryland is ranked No. 15 in the Associated Press poll and tied with Duke (6-2) for No. 14 in the USA Today Coaches poll.

After Wednesday's contest, the Terps will host local opponent George Washington (3-5) Friday ay 7 p.m. at the XFINITY Center. All kids 12 and under are invited to shoot hoops on the court after the game. For tickets, click here or call 1-800-IM-A-TERP.
