BALTIMORE – Six returning members of the Maryland women’s lacrosse team were selected as Inside Lacrosse Preseason All-Americans. The publication released the honors in its 2017 Face-Off Yearbook.
Senior defender Nadine Hadnagy and senior midfielder Zoe Stukenberg, returning captains from last season’s team, were named to the first team. The duo are joined by junior attacker Megan Whittle on the first team.
Sophomore defender Julia Braig earned second team honors while senior attacker Caroline Wannen and sophomore goalie Megan Taylor were named honorable mention.
Hadnagy, Stukenberg and Whittle are Maryland’s returning 2016 IWLCA All-Americans while Taylor was an all-region selection as just a freshman.
Maryland was selected No. 2 in the Face-Off Yearbook’s preseason Top 20. The Terrapins advanced the NCAA Championship game for the fourth straight season in 2016.
The Terps open the 2017 campaign at William & Mary in Williamsburg, Va., on Saturday, Feb. 11 at noon.
