COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- The 15th-ranked Maryland women's basketball team (6-2) will play at Akron (3-2) Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Zips' John A. Rhodes Arena. The Terps-Zips matchup will be streamed live online through the Watch ESPN app and WatchESPN.com. Live stats will be available here.

The Terrapins are taking senior guard Kristen Confroy home to play in front of her family and friends. Confroy grew up in Solon, Ohio, about 30 miles from the University of Akron. The Terrapins will visit her home and spend time with her family and friends Friday night.

This is the first matchup between Maryland and Akron. The Terps have won four straight games going into Saturday's matchup.

The Terrapins won at Virginia, 60-59, Wednesday night in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge. The Cavaliers went on an 11-0 run to lead 54-51 with 7:00 to play. A three by Confroy tied the game, then a layup by sophomore Kaila Charles with 40 seconds left gave Maryland the lead. Stephanie Jones and Charles led with 13 points each. Confroy added 12 and Ieshia Small scored 10.

Maryland is ranked No. 15 in the Associated Press poll and in the USA Today Coaches poll.

Charles was one of 50 of the top players in the country named to the Citizen Naismith Watch List Wednesday.

After Saturday's game, Maryland will open a three-game home stand vs. Mount St. Mary's (0-6) Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. at the XFINITY Center. For tickets, click here or call 1-800-IM-A-TERP. 

Fans are encourage to bring stuffed animals Wednesday night to toss onto the court at halftime as part of the Terrapins' annual Teddy Bear Toss. All stuffed animals collected will be donated to College Park Youth and Family Services. Fans will have the chance to win prizes if they register their teddy bears at the marketing table and their teddy bear lands on the target on the floor.

All fans in attendance will receive a basketball bingo card and have the opportunity to win prizes for single bingo and blackout bingo.
