COLLEGE PARK, Md. – The Maryland men’s basketball team will host Virginia at the XFINITY Center on Wednesday, November 28 for the 2018 Big Ten/ACC Challenge announced today by ESPN.

The matchup reignites one of the most storied rivalries in college basketball, as the teams will meet for the 183rd time in the all-time series. This will be the second time the schools face one another in the B1G/ACC Challenge since Maryland joined the Big Ten in 2014-15 season. Virginia secured a 76-65 victory in that matchup on December 14, 2014.

Maryland holds a 107-75 advantage in the head-to-head series, which dates back to the 1912-13 season. Maryland closed out its 61st and final Atlantic Coast Conference regular season with an upset of Virginia on March 9, 2014, outlasting No. 5 Virginia 75-69 in overtime to end the Cavaliers' 13-game winning streak.

Head Coach Mark Turgeon welcomed a consensus top-15 recruiting class to  College Park this season, while returning All-Big Ten honorees Anthony Cowan Jr. and Bruno Fernando to the fold for 2017-18.

This marks the 20th year of the Challenge, which started in 1999. ESPN, ESPN2 and ESPNU will combine to televise all 14 games of the event, and all games will also be available to stream via the ESPN app. Dates, start times and network assignments will be confirmed and announced at a later date.
