COLLEGE PARK, Md. – The Maryland football program announced four future opponents and home dates on Thursday afternoon. The Terps will welcome Howard (2019), Towson (2023), Bowling Green (2024) and Youngstown State (2027) to Capital One Field at Maryland Stadium in future years.
Maryland was scheduled to host Bowling Green on August 31, 2019 but that game has been moved to Sept. 21, 2024. The Terps will now host Howard on August 31, 2019.
The Bowling Green game will complete a three-game series between the Terps and the Falcons. Maryland hosted BGSU in 2015 and will travel to Ohio to take on the Falcons on September 8, 2018. It will be a homecoming for Maryland Head Coach DJ Durkin, who graduated from Bowling Green (2001) and served as a graduate assistant (2001-02), defensive ends coach (2005) and special teams/linebackers coach (2006) for the Falcons.
The Terps will face Howard for the first time since defeating the Bison, 52-13, in 2016. It marked the first win at Maryland for Durkin. Howard’s Head Coach, Mike London, served as Maryland’s Associate Head Coach/Defensive Line Coach during the 2016 season.
Maryland will host Towson on Sept. 30, 2023. The teams met this past season with Maryland winning, 63-17.
The Terps will welcome Youngstown State to College Park on September 11, 2027. It’ll mark the first meeting between the programs.
