This month we quickly caught up with 2014 graduate Michael Ehrhardt, who has helped lead the Charlotte Hounds to a first place 5-2 record as the MLL season approaches its midpoint. Ehrhardt is also set to represent Team USA at this summer's World Championships!

What have you been up to since graduating from Maryland?

“I’ve been working in the commercial real estate industry on the title insurance side since I graduated. So I’ve been doing that about 3 and a half years on top of playing professionally in the MLL for the Charlotte Hounds.”

Eight former Terps have suited up for Charlotte this season. What's it like to play with so many former teammates?

“It’s something great to be a part of. Just knowing that every week I get to go down and play with a lot of guys that I either played with or younger guys I only had one year to play with – it’s a great experience. To be familiar with all these guys that came from the same program and be built from the same material is great to be able to have.”

What does it mean to you to represent Team USA this summer at the World Championships?

“It’s an incredible honor. It’s been a lifetime dream. It’s something you dream about when you’re a little kid to wear the USA across your chest. To be able to represent our country over in Israel is an incredible experience. It was a great tryout – they could have taken any 45 of those guys. I was lucky enough to be one of the 23 selected and I’m looking forward to training camp in a few weeks and then heading to Israel in the beginning of July."

How did Maryland prepare you for life after college?

“Coach Tillman does a great job preparing us for life after college. He gets it. He understands you’re able to use lacrosse after college, but the vast majority are going to have to find real jobs and go into finance or become teachers or become coaches or whatever it may be. He provides a lot of tools and lessons that really apply to life after college and does an amazing job preparing his players.”
