COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Maryland junior second baseman Nick Dunn was named a second-team All-American by Baseball America, the publication announced Thursday.
Dunn enjoyed a sensational offensive campaign in which he led Maryland in average (.330), slugging percentage (.561), on-base percentage (.419), home runs (10), doubles (17), hits (70), runs (39) and RBIs (39). He led the team with 23 multi-hit games and 11 multi-RBI games. His reached base streak of 22 games topped the team.
The Sunbury native became the 13th player in Maryland history to reach the 200-hit mark against Indiana on May 17. Dunn was named a first-team All-Big Ten selection last week. Dunn was named a freshman All-American in 2016 and is one of 16 All-Americans in program history.
Maryland has now had an All-American or freshman All-American the last five seasons; eight total honorees.
