COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Maryland men’s soccer head coach Sasho Cirovski announced the Terrapins’ 2018 schedule Tuesday, which includes home matches against three-time defending national champions Stanford, traditional power UCLA and reigning Big Ten Tournament champions Wisconsin.
The Terps will also play the first college soccer match at Audi Field, the home of MLS club D.C. United, on Labor Day against seven-time national champions Virginia. The schedule is comprised of 10 matches against teams that made the 2017 NCAA Tournament field, including both the reigning national champions and national runner up.
“I am delighted to announce our very exciting and challenging 2018 schedule,” Cirovski said. “The opportunity to host three time National Champion Stanford and renew our rivalry with Virginia at DC United's new home, Audi Field, are eye catching, but so is the rest of the schedule. Every team on our schedule is a potential NCAA tournament team. In addition to our strong Big Ten opponents, we will challenge ourselves against top teams from seven other conferences. I know our team and our amazing fanbase will be ready.”
