AUSTIN, Texas – Maryland women’s golf sophomore Xiaolin Tian finished tied for 29th place today at the NCAA Women’s Golf Regionals in Austin, Texas. She ended the tournament with a four-over 220 (73-73-74).
A second-team All-Big Ten selection, Tian was a consistent leader for the Terps this season, leading the team in four of the eight events she competed in. Though Tian will not advance to the NCAA Women’s Golf Championship, she caps off her sophomore campaign with one of her lowest rounds of the 2017-18 season.
Tian ended the season with two top-10 finishes, four top-20 finishes and a T2 finish at the Big Ten Championship.
The teams advancing from the NCAA Austin Regional are Arkansas (-26), Texas (-15), Auburn (+5), Florida (+5), Baylor (+5) and Oklahoma (+6). The individuals advancing are Maddie Szeryk from Texas A&M (-7), Leonie Harm from Houston (-4) and Rose Huang from BYU (-4).
