Tian Set for NCAA Austin Regional

COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- Sophomore Xiaolin Tian travels to Austin, Texas, on Monday to compete as one of 24 individuals in postseason play at the NCAA Austin Regional.

Tian begins play on Monday, teeing off at 10:40 a.m. ET at the par-72, 6,341-yard University of Texas Golf Club. There, she will compete against five other individuals: Brigitte Dunne and Faith Summers from SMU, Katrina Prendergast and Ellen Secor from Colorado State, and Greta Bruner from TCU.

The low six teams and the low three individuals not on those teams will advance to the national championships to be played May 18-23 at the Karsten Creek Golf Club in Stillwater, Oklahoma.

Tian is the first Maryland women’s golfer to make the NCAA tournament as an individual since Juliet Vongphoumy did so in 2015. Vongphoumy finished in 22nd after shooting a 224 (73-73-78).
