ROSEMONT, Ill. – The Big Ten Conference announced the Maryland women’s basketball team’s home and away conference games for the 2018-19 season Thursday afternoon.
Dates and times of these games will be announced at a later date. Big Ten women’s basketball teams will play 18 conference games next season.
The Terps are scheduled to host Michigan, Minnesota, Northwestern and Wisconsin at the XFINITY Center. They will also play home/away matchups with Illinois, Nebraska, Ohio State, Penn State and Rutgers. The Terrapins will travel to Indiana, Iowa, Michigan State and Purdue.
In the four years since joining the Big Ten, the Terrapins have made four straight trips to the Big Ten Tournament championship game, winning the 2015, 2016 and 2017 titles, and have won three straight regular season titles. They are 72-8 (.900) in conference play, including their 11-1 record in the Big Ten Tournament.
Head coach Brenda Frese is 96-18 (.842) all-time vs. Big Ten opponents, which includes her time at Minnesota and at Ball State. Maryland is 31-3 (.912) against Big Ten teams at home in XFINITY Center. All are under Frese.
Maryland went 26-8 this season, advanced to its fourth straight Big Ten championship game and earned its eighth straight NCAA Tournament bid. The Terrapins return four of five starters and All-Big Ten honorees Kaila Charles and Eleanna Christinaki and a total of five players that averaged double figures.
