Alexandrova and Stretton teammed up to win at first doubles, and each followed it up with a singles win later in the match.
Maryland took the early lead over Iowa after clinching the doubles point for the 11th time this season. Sophomores Katsiaryna Yemelyanenka and Saya Usui got things started with a 6-0 sweep at third doubles. Alexandrova and Stretton then followed it with a 6-3 win over No. 55 Elise van Heuvelen and Anastasia Reimchen.
It was Alexandrova and Stretton's team-best 11th doubles win of the year and their seventh victory in a row.
The Terps kept things rolling when singles play began, taking three-straight matches to earn the victory over the Hawkeyes.
Stretton was the first Terp to put a singles point on the board, beating Reimchen, 6-1, 6-2, at third singles. The junior's win was her team-best 11th singles victory of the season.
Freshman Zoe Kulkarni then secured Maryland's third point of the afternoon with a 6-2, 6-3, win over Adrienne Jensen at sixth singles. Kulkarni has now won four-consecutive matches and has four Big Ten wins on the year.
Alexandrova then sealed the win for Maryland shortly after, beating reigning Big Ten Freshman of the Year van Heuvelen, 7-5, 6-0 at first singles. The Maryland freshman now has nine wins at the top spot of Maryland's sinlges lineup.
The Terps will be back in action on Sunday, hosting Nebraska at the JTCC in College Park. Opening serve is slated for 10:30 a.m.
