JOHNS ISLAND, S.C. - The Maryland women's golf team wrapped up Tuesday at the Briar’s Creek Invitational, hosted by the College of Charleston.
Junior Ludovica Farina led the Terrapins and finished tied for 30th in the individual standings. She shot a 222 (76-74-72), which was six strokes over par total after earning an even 72 in Tuesday’s final round.
Freshman Laura Van Respaille and junior Ludovica Scandroglio both finished one stroke behind Farina with scores of 223. They tied for 36th. Van Respaille shot a 76 in the first round, a 72 in the second and 75 in the third. Scandroglio earned a 76 in the first round, a 70 in the second and 77.
As a team, the Terps finished ninth out of 17 teams and one stroke behind No. 37 East Carolina.
The Terrapins competed Monday and Tuesday at The Golf Club at Briar’s Creek, a par-72, 6,101-yard course.
The Terrapins competed against four top-50 teams in No. 23 Illinois, No. 29 North Carolina, No. 37 East Carolina and No. 40 Campbell and against Boston College, College of Charleston, Charleston Southern, Coastal Carolina, Georgetown, Kansas, Old Dominion, Penn State, South Florida, Texas Tech and UNC Asheville.
