COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- Members of the Maryland field hockey summit left their mark in many ways, contributing to USA Field Hockey's inaugural Summit in Baltimore this weekend.
Former Terrapin and two-time Olympian Keli Smith Puzo was inducted into the USA Field Hockey Hall of Fame at the annual Gala Saturday night. Since its establishment in 1988, the USA Field Hockey Hall of Fame has recognized athletes and honorary members for their contributions to the sport on and off the pitch. In 2018, USA Field Hockey created several additional awards to more broadly recognize, honor and celebrate individuals across the hockey community whose contributions have made a major and lasting impact on the game of field hockey in the United States.
Former Terp and Olympian Katie Kauffman Beach was honored for her work with her club, Windy City Field Hockey, in Chicago.
Maryland head coach Missy Meharg spoke on growing the game of field hockey and encouraging coaches and hockey fans to spread the love of hockey.
Maryland assistants and Olympians Katie Bam and Marvin Bam presented at the Summit.
