Maryland Drops Two at Aquafina Invitational

Maryland (3-10) dropped two games at the Aquafina Invitational on Saturday, a 4-1 contest to Georgia Southern and a 12-0 affair with the host, No. 1 Florida. 

Game One - Box Score 

Sophomore Brigette Nordberg and senior Jacqui Pascual both went 2-for-3 in the day's early game against Georgia Southern.

The Eagles scored their first runs of the game on a two out, two run home run in the first inning. In the third, Nordberg hit a two out double which was followed by a RBI single to right field for Pascual to cut the deficit in half. 

Ryan Denhart had a solid day in the circle, throwing 5.2 innings, allowing four runs (two earned) and striking out two. Georgia Southern added two more in the sixth and Maryland was never able to comeback, falling 4-1. 

Game Two - Box Score

Mikayla Werahiko tallied the only Maryland hit of the game as the Terps fell to No. 1 Florida 12-0. 

The Gators tallied four in the first, four in the third, two in the fourth and two in the fifth in their victory.
