COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Muhammad-Ali Abdur-Rahkam scored a career-high 28 points to lead No. 17 Michigan (24-7, 13-5) to an 85-61 win over Maryland (19-12, 8-10) Saturday.
The Wolverines shot 50.9% (29-of-57) from the field and hit 15 three-pointers, while four players finished in double figures.
Abdur-Rahkman made six 3-pointers in the first half and also led the Wolverines with five rebounds and four assists. The senior guard cooled off in the second half, but nevertheless surpassed his previous career-best of 26 points.
Maryland honored its three seniors in a pregame ceremony prior to tip, as Sean Obi, Michal Cekosvky and Jared Nickens were joined by friends in family on the court in their final regular season home game.
Maryland will enter next week’s Big Ten Tournament at Madison Square Garden as the No. 8 seed, with a matchup slated against ninth-seeded Wisconsin at noon on March 1.
