COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Maryland men's lacrosse senior midfielder Connor Kelly has been named to the initial USILA Player of the Year “Watch List” for the 2018 season. Kelly is one 11 players on the inaugural list, which includes six players from the Big Ten Conference.
Kelly pieced together arguably the most impressive season for a midfielder in Maryland history last year, setting a midfielder program record with a team-best 46 goals. Kelly, who competed with Team USA in the offseason, was a USILA First Team All-America selection, in addition to earning NCAA All-Tournament Team and Big Ten Tournament MVP in 2017.
The Easton, Conn., native has appeared in a team-high 58 career games, and looks poised for an excellent encore season in 2018.
The Terps are set to open the 2018 season Feb. 10 against Navy at Capital One Field at Maryland Stadium.
