COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Junior forward Brianna Fraser scored 17 as the No. 11 Maryland women’s basketball team (15-3, 4-1 Big Ten) fell to Michigan State (13-5, 3-2), 82-68, Thursday evening in the XFINITY Center.
The Spartans used a 7-0 run to close the first quarter with a 17-15 lead. Christinaki scored 10 in the first half, but Michigan State took a 38-31 halftime lead.
Maryland used an 11-0 spurt in the third quarter to pull within one, 43-42. The Spartans pulled ahead again and finished the quarter ahead, 61-49.
Prior to Thursday’s game, Maryland announced sophomore Blair Watson will miss the remainder of the 2017-18 season after suffering a torn right ACL in practice Wednesday.
Maryland is ranked No. 11 in the Associated Press poll and in the USA Today Coaches poll.
